The challenge at French building materials company Materis was to find a purge and archive solution that adheres to the integrity rules within the JD Edwards database, allows for the inclusion of custom tables and had the flexibility to treat finance and distribution data differently to meet French compliance regulations.

In May 2001 Hyundai Car (UK) Limited
implemented JD Edwards' OneWorld (now known as EnterpriseOne)
as its core system to manage its vehicle supply chain and
financials. Owned by RAC plc and the sole UK importer and
distributor of cars manufactured by the Korean company, Hyundai
relies on OneWorld to manage its business processes from importing
and warehousing, matching customer orders, through to order
fulfilment. Three years on, however, Hyundai found that system
performance was becoming a business critical issue.

Richard Gonzalez, Financial Systems
Analyst for RCL, describes EasyReporting as "a nifty little
tool". RCL had no particular issue with its existing reporting
and analysis processes and uses the capabilities of the OneWorld
system; however, Richard says he is always on the look-out
for tools that can quickly add value. On seeing EasyReporting
demonstrated, Richard could immediately see some vital uses,
particularly in the quick analysis of data.

variables and a lot of the risk often associated with

Whitehouse consultants provided both detailed knowledge of the software and a continuity of expertise throughout implementation. Whitehouse's role was initially to act as process consultant, to assist in application installation and to provide on-site training.
- Servier UK takes NewWorld (pdf 125kb)
The French parent company is planning to implement JD Edwards
OneWorld software and the UK subsidiary, wishing to update
its own AS 400 - based system, needs a level of compatibility
with the parent without having to undertake a full ERP implementation.
A year after implementation, NewWorld has proved to be a realistic, cost-effective and virtually self-sufficient solution for Servier.

Saudi Arabian pharmaceutical company PSI implemented OneWorld in 2002. It was an unusual project: an American ERP solution being implemented in a Saudi Arabian company using Polish JD Edwards consultants.
