ORACLE UNVEILS JD EDWARDS ENTERPRISEONE 9.1
Oracle has announced a long list of upgrades to its JD Edwards enterprise resource planning (ERP) portfolio. Building on the innovations first introduced in Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools Release 9.1, the latest JD Edwards EnterpriseOne release continues Oracle's commitment to Applications Unlimited with important advancements for user productivity, industry-specific functionality, and support for global business operations. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 addresses the most critical user needs, while delivering key enhancements in several areas.
"We've delivered more product and innovation in the last 12 months than in any other 12-month period in the 37-year history of JD Edwards" claimed Lyle Ekdahl, Oracle's group VP and general manager of JD Edwards.
Reporting
New innovations enable users to easily build their own interactive reports and then leverage the power of Oracle BI Publisher to generate the report output in multiple formats. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.1 empowers end users and reduces the need for IT assistance with 40 new user inquiry/reporting applications that support 178 pre-built reports.
User Experience
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Release 9.1 offers significant enhancements in the user experience, including Web 2.0 features that reduce task time and enable access to meaningful information when and where it is needed.

JD Edwards conference success
The JD Edwards User Group held at Ascot Race Course on the 4-5th November 2008 was a great success, with the participation of more than 300 attendees. It was the most successful JD Edwards Conference in the UK since the acquisition of PeopleSoft/JD Edwards by Oracle. The event featured an exhibition and more than 50 presentations from customers, partners and Oracle staff, sharing knowledge and information.
The next conference is planned for November 2009 and further details can be found on the User Group website.
Whitehouse supports Oracle charity fundraising golf day.
Oracle's Lisa Seaward sent us news of the results of our efforts, "Thank you for your support for the Prince's Trust Charity and helping to raise £2,000 by participating in the Oracle Partner Charity Golf Day on 23rd October at Donnington Valley Golf Course." The Whitehouse team were not victorious on this occasion but we would like to thank our customers and consultants for turning out.

As a result of feedback from customers, a new initiative between the UK User Group and Oracle Support has been launched. Oracle Support has committed to a quarterly call with UKOUG members, the aim being to provide users with direct access to local Support representatives in order to facilitate discussion around current issues and develop an ongoing dialogue.

Major new releases of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (9.0) and EnterpriseOne Tools (8.98) were announced at OpenWorld, which was held in San Francisco this month.
EnterpriseOne 9.0 includes a new Project and Government Contract Accounting module that helps meet the diverse and complex project management requirements of industries such as engineering and construction and professional project-oriented services. The new release includes enhancements for financial management, supply chain management and human resource management as well as industry-specific capabilities for engineering and construction, food and beverage, commercial real estate, industrial manufacturing and professional services.
EnterpriseOne Tools 8.98, the technology infrastructure for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications, includes innovations in reporting, integration, system administration and user experience, and is available for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.10, 8.11, 8.11 SP1, 8.12 and 9.0. Click here to learn more.

Accelerate is Oracle's go to market strategy for General Business (organisations with turnover of up to £300m) providing "Unlimited Possibilities for Limited Budgets". Whitehouse launched an Accelerate solution for the Wholesale Distribution Sector in August 2007.

Two long term Oracle Certified Advantage Partners become one
Peak Systems and Whitehouse Consultants, both long established JD Edwards specialists have come together, working under the Whitehouse brand. The focus of the business remains JD Edwards: bringing industry-specific Accelerate Solutions to the market and servicing the needs of the mid-size business; working with JD Edwards customers over the long term to maximise solution value.
Ian Silvester, formerly Chairman of Whitehouse Consultants, is commencing his well-earned retirement. As many Whitehouse clients know, this is likely to include wildlife and steam train photography and supporting the English cricket team.
Adrian Coss, formerly MD of Peak Systems, is now leading the company forward using the established Whitehouse name and brand. All other contacts at Peak Systems and Whitehouse Consultants remain in post, working together as a combined force at Whitehouse Consultants.

New customers signed
Whitehouse Consultants has completed two new JD Edwards EnterpriseOne release 8.12 signings, confirming the ongoing growth and development of the product by Oracle and its continuing appeal to companies looking for new enterprise management solutions. The companies are a large property funds management company which has purchased Finance, Procurement and Property Management; and a company in the entertainment sector who will implement Finance, Procurement, Property Management, Payroll, Expense Management and HR modules.
